Botox

Botox is a “wrinkle relaxer” and is used to treat scowl lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines, gummy smile, tight neck bands, and necklace lines. It can be quite helpful in reducing masseter muscle strength due to excessive clenching. Additionally, Botox is used to achieve a lip flip, brow lift, and to reduce excessive armpit, facial, and scalp sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis. Botox can be helpful in lessening muscle tension and migraine headaches.

  • Avoid blood thinning agents for 2-3 days before appointment. This includes ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), aspirin (Excedrin), fish oil, alcohol, and Tumeric.

  • Avoid massaging Botox areas

    Stay upright for four hours

    No facials, hydrafacials, or chemical peels for at least 4 days

    Avoid exercise for the remainder of the day (ok to exercise before treatment)

    Avoid pressure at Botox areas such as tight headbands, baseball caps, goggles.

    Avoid placing your face in a face cradle (Back massage/Chiropractic treatment) for four days

Filler

Simply stated, dermal fillers provide volume. They are commonly used for lip enhancement, cheek enhancement, and for reducing the depth of smile lines. Fillers are helpful in supporting the mid-face and under eye areas. They can be used for ear lobe plumping, facial lifting, acne scar reduction and for providing volume at the temples. Treatment of lipstick lines & lip border volume depletion, cleft chin and chin dimpling can achieved beautifully with dermal fillers.

  • Avoid blood thinning agents for 2-3 days before appointment. This includes ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), aspirin (Excedrin), fish oil, alcohol, and Tumeric.

  • Avoid exercise for 24-48 hours, if there is bruising or swelling

    Avoid sunshine at areas of bruising

    Ice intermittently

    If excessive pain, swelling, visual changes, excessive warmth or color changes of the skin occur, notify immediately by emergency phone call. 612.910.5158

SkinPen

Microneedling is a minimally invasive, cosmetic procedure that treats skin concerns (wrinkles, acne scarring, stretch marks) by stimulating collagen production. It can help improve the texture and appearance of skin. A series of three to four treatments is recommended.

  • Discontinue the use of retinol, tretinoin, Vitamin C or alpha-hydroxy acids for 24 hours prior to your treatment.

    Avoid sun exposure for 24 hours prior to treatment.

    Wait at least 6 months after finishing Accutane (isotretinoin) for SkinPen treatment

    If you currently have an open wound, cold sore outbreak or sunburn, your treatment likely will need to be rescheduled. Please call to reschedule as soon as possible.

    If you have a history of “cold sores” or herpes simplex virus outbreaks at lips, nose or other facial areas, please discuss further for directions on premedicating with an antiviral, or if this is an appropriate treatment for you.

    If you are taking autoimmune therapy, please discuss further in advance of your appointment.

    Discontinue self tanner on the facial and neck areas.

    Please arrive at appointment time free of all make-up.

  • Immediately following treatment, skin will appear sunburned/windburned & inflamed.

    This will continue for 24-48 hours.

    Keep your skin very clean and free of sunscreen & makeup for 24 hours following the procedure.

    Unexpected complications may occur if products not proven safe for use with microneedling are applied post-procedure.

    Apply provided Rescue gel and Lift gel as needed to help alleviate dryness.

    Strictly avoid sun exposure for 24 hours after treatment (sunscreen is not recommended in the first 24 hours following treatment).

    Avoid strenuous exercise or excessive perspiration, as well as pools or lake water, hot tubs, and saunas for 72 hours. Excessive blood flow and perspiration can cause discomfort and irritation to compromised skin.

    Continue to minimize sun exposure for 72 hours following the procedure.
